Recognised in equal measures for his expert command of the dance floor, his heavyweight productions and his close affinity to the Paradise and Hot Creations family, Mark Jenkyns has become an undeniable stalwart of the house and techno scene with an impressive and ever-expanding list of accolades that includes releases on Hottrax, Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels, Suara, Defected and VIVa.
The Newcastle native has always relied on skills and talent to prove himself; with his ‘Sirens EP’ landing on Hottrax in late 2017, it hit the overall Beatport top 10 within just three days, peaked at #2 then proceeded to spend over 100 days in the top 100 before being charted in a plethora of industry end-of-year ‘Best Of’ charts, including those by Mixmag, Ibiza Voice and Data Transmission. It’s easy, therefore, to understand why he holds residencies at Paradise and Abode in Ibiza, and why elite party brands like Elrow and VIVa Warriors insist on him featuring on their line-ups across the globe.
Following an impressive Winter run of shows that saw Mark play iconic venues like the Warehouse Project and Printworks London, and join Steve Lawler for his legendary New Year’s Day VIVa Warriors Party, 2018’s diary is already filling up fast. As comfortable headlining as he is supporting, understanding the intricacies and nuances involved when reading and warming up a crowd is an often-underestimated skill, but one that has seen Mark carving a niche for himself in an unforgiving industry.
A firm believer that positivity helps drive success, unwavering support for Mark’s music comes from a vast range of names across the electronic music scene, from Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed, Groove Armada and Riva Starr, to Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard. With a fresh focus on production, 2018 will see releases on Desert Hearts, VIVa, Cajual and Resonance Records in Q1, and a highly anticipated return to the ever-impressive Hot Creations imprint with long-time collaborator, Mizbee, due out around the annual Miami Music Week conference mid March.
